Here are some examples of interest lists:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tAssuming a user has permission, they may place themselves on the interest list for an issue, thereby assuring that they will receive notification of all changes to the issue, no matter who makes the change<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tAn interest list may be defined which is based upon the value of one or more values within the issues. For example, the Product Manager may place himself upon an interest list so they will receive notification on any issue that has their product selected; another example may be that an Account Manager may want to see all the issues regarding their customer; another example may be that the General Manager may want to see all high severity issues from a number of customers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Email notifications are automatically generated to the owner of the issue and the assigned person of the new issue entered. If you are changing the state or other information related to an issue, then email is sent to the owner, the originator and the person assigned to the issue. If any of these values are the same, only one email will be generated per person. In addition, users can subscribe to an interest list for any issue.<\/p>\n<h3>\n\tIssue Interest Lists<\/h3>\n<p>Two mechanisms exist for manipulating issue-based interest lists. Assuming the administrator has granted you permission, you will see a checkbox when adding or updating an issue, within the Notification section of the screen. To place yourself on the interest list for the issue, simply check the box. To remove yourself, uncheck the box.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/v25\/extraview-media\/images\/ug\/email_notification\/issue_based_interest_lists.png\" width=\"90%\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"imageCaption\">Issue-based interest lists<\/span><\/p>\n<p>You may also remove yourself from your personal issue-based interest lists from your <b>Account<\/b>: menu bar option by choosing the <b>Notification Options<\/b> entry. From there, you can opt-in or opt-out of any issue-based or other interest list.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/v25\/extraview-media\/images\/ug\/email_notification\/opt_in_opt_out_interest_lists.png\" width=\"90%\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"imageCaption\">Opt-in and Opt-out from interest lists<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>\n\tField-based Interest Lists<\/h3>\n<p>Field-based interest lists provide the purpose of notifying you when a value, or combination of values, on any issue being updated, have specific values. For example, interest lists could be established to notify users upon the following circumstances:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tWhen the <b>Priority<\/b> of the issue is <em>P 1<\/em><\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tWhen the <b>Product<\/b> is <em>Tracker<\/em> and the <b>Customer<\/b> is <em>ABC Corp<\/em><\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tWhen the <b>Status<\/b> is <em>Fixed<\/em> and the <b>Module<\/b> is <em>Database<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The administrator will have established interest lists as appropriate for you installation, and there may be some interest lists which are fixed and to which you cannot alter your subscription. However, there may be some interest lists to which you can either opt-in or opt-out, at your own discretion. When you look at your interest list, you can click on the <b>Opt-in<\/b> or <b>Opt-out<\/b> button by each interest list entry, to achieve this.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Interest lists can be based upon issues, or upon the value of fields within issues.
