To create a new layout type, click the administrative tab named Create and Maintain Layout Types. You can also access this screen from within the Design Center, by clicking the New<\/b> button within the Layouts <\/strong>Panel<\/p>\n

Adding a New Layout Type from the Design Center<\/span><\/p>\n

Layout types must have a name, a title and a usage. The usages are:<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\tLayout Type<\/strong><\/td>\n\n\t\t\t\t\tPurpose<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\tEMBEDDED_REPORT<\/td>\n\n\t\t\t\t\tEmbedded Report – Creates a layout that contains a report to be embedded within an Add <\/em>or Edit <\/em>screen<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\tMENUBAR<\/td>\n\n\t\t\t\t\tMenubar – Layouts that are used to contain the menubar buttons that are displayed at the top and bottom of Add <\/em>and Edit <\/em>screens<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\tMENUBAR_BUTTON<\/td>\n\n\t\t\t\t\tMenubar Buttons – used to create layouts that contain buttons embedded within an Add<\/em>, Edit <\/em>and Related Issue Display<\/em> screens.  They can be single buttons or a layout containing multiple buttons.  These are used to create buttons and dropdown select menus that are placed within these screens <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\tREPORT<\/td>\n\n\t\t\t\t\tReport – Detailed Report, Quicklist and Related Issue Display layouts<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\tSCREEN<\/td>\n\n\t\t\t\t\tScreen – Embedded layouts within Add <\/em>and Edit <\/em>screens<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\tSEARCH<\/td>\n\n\t\t\t\t\tSearch – Query layouts and search layouts embedded within Add <\/em>and Edit <\/em>screens<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\tUSER_REPORT<\/td>\n\n\t\t\t\t\tUser Report – Used when creating reports that contain user information<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

When you edit a layout type, you will see a list of all the places where the layout type is used as a layout within your installation, and you can click the Edit<\/b> button by each usage, to take you to the Design Center where that layout is used.<\/p>\n

If, and only if, you are creating a new layout type to be used as a repeating row, then complete the bottom section of the form. If you are creating a new repeating row layout type, then you also give this a name and a title. When you press the radio button to Create a new repeating row type<\/b> these fields are shown. You can create a new layout type using an existing repeating row type, in which case you choose the option to Select an existing repeating row type<\/b>. In this case you select the repeating row type from the list.<\/p>\n

Note<\/b>: The edit function allows you to delete layout types, whether they were created by yourself as an administrator, or created by ExtraView. You should not delete an ExtraView created layout type<\/b>. ExtraView will not function correctly if you do so.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
