Workspaces have several configuration points of which you should be aware.<\/p>\n

\n\tSecurity Permissions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n
\n\t\t\t\tMENU_WORKSPACE<\/td>\n\n\t\t\t\tThis key provide the overall control of access to workspaces, role by role.  If the user role does not have write access to this key, the Workspace<\/strong> navigation bar entry does not appear, and there is no way for the user to access workspaces<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n\t\t\t\tCF_ALLOW_RETURN_FROM_WORKSPACE<\/td>\n\n\t\t\t\tRead access to this permission key places an entry in the workspace menu with the title Close Workspace<\/strong>.  Without this permissoin, the user cannot return to the traditional ExtraView user interface.  If the user’s profile has selected their start page as Worskpace<\/strong> and this permission is not provided, the user is locked into the workspace environment<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n\t\t\t\tSR_PUBLIC_WORKSPACE<\/td>\n\n\t\t\t\tIf the user role has write permission to this key, they are allowed to save & delete public workspaces created by other users.  Without this permission, the user may only delete workspaces that they have created.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

\n\tSaving Workspaces<\/h3>\n

Each workspace is governed by three factors:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • \n\t\tIts user role for which it is created<\/li>\n
  • \n\t\tIts Business Area within which it is saved.  This becomes the default Business Area for operations within the workspace<\/li>\n
  • \n\t\tPublic or Private.  If you create a shared workspace, other users may use this, and if they have write access to SR_PUBLIC_WORKSPACE, they may overwrite and\/or delete it.  If the workspace is private, only the owner has permission to access it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    There is no practical limit to the number of workspaces that can be configured, although it is recommended that you do not have too many shared workspaces, as users may be confused as to the different purpose of each saved workspace.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
