{"id":24426,"date":"2024-02-15T14:53:34","date_gmt":"2024-02-15T22:53:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/docs.extraview.com\/v25\/book\/troubleshooting-1\/"},"modified":"2025-02-17T12:48:08","modified_gmt":"2025-02-17T20:48:08","slug":"troubleshooting-1","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/docs.extraview.com\/v25\/extraview-25\/installation-upgrade-guide-1\/troubleshooting-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Troubleshooting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The steps to ensure that your installation is operational and running without problems are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tCheck the Apache web server is running<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tCheck the Apache Tomcat application server is connected to the Apache web server, and is running<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tCheck that you can connect to the ExtraView servlet, and that this connects to your database<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tCheck that ExtraView is operational, and you can sign on<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\n\tVerify that the Apache web server is operational<\/h3>\n<p>Enter the URL of the server into a browser, for example http:\/\/127.0.0.1, and you should see the Apache test page.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/v25\/extraview-media\/images\/ig\/troubleshoot\/trouble1.png\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>\n\tVerify that the Apache Tomcat application server is running<\/h3>\n<p>By opening a browser on the local machine and typing in the URL of your machine:8080, for example http:\/\/trillium.extraview.net:8080, you should get the default Apache Tomcat screen.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/v25\/extraview-media\/images\/ig\/troubleshoot\/trouble2.png\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>\n\tVerify that Tomcat can find ExtraView<\/h3>\n<p>Now, append \/evj\/IsItEvj to the URL, for example http:\/\/localhost:8080\/evj\/IsItEvj and look for the following screen. You should see a screen that is equivalent, but with your installation details.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/v25\/extraview-media\/images\/ig\/troubleshoot\/trouble3.png\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>\n\tVerify that the Apache web server connects to the Apache Tomcat application server<\/h3>\n<p>Now, type in the plain URL of your server, for example http:\/\/trillium.extraview.net.
