\n\tAdd LinkedIn Application<\/h3>\n

In order to use the LinkedIn integration, you must create a new Application on the LinkedIn Developer Network.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \n\t\tGo to the LinkedIn Developer Network<\/a> site.<\/li>\n
  2. \n\t\tHover the mouse over the account name in the upper right corner and click the API Keys<\/b> selection.<\/li>\n
  3. \n\t\tFollow the prompts to get to the List of Applications<\/b> page.<\/li>\n
  4. \n\t\tClick on the Add New Application<\/b> link.<\/li>\n
  5. \n\t\tComplete the Add New Application form with all required fields. The following values are recommended for the fields indicated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\tField<\/td>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tValue<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\tApplication Name<\/td>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tExtraView Integration<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\tDescription<\/td>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tApplication for use with ExtraView integration<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\tJavaScript API Domain<\/td>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tEnter the full domain name of your ExtraView server<\/b> (e.g., http:\/\/company.domain.com)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\tLive Status<\/td>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tLive<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\tAgreement Language<\/td>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tBrowser Locale Setting<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/li>\n
  6. \n\t\tClick on the Add Application<\/b> button.<\/li>\n
  7. \n\t\tOnce the application is added successfully, make a note of the API Key<\/b> value listed on the Application Details<\/b> page. This value will be needed when configuring ExtraView.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \n\tDeploy ExtraView Files<\/h3>\n

    The LinkedIn integration functionality depends on the following components to be deployed into your ExtraView server environment. Please obtain all the files listed below from the ExtraView Support team. For the purpose of this document, the <evj><\/span> directory refers to the installation location of your ExtraView web application.<\/p>\n

    \n\tCustom Search Images<\/h4>\n

    The following image files need to be installed in the <evj>\/images\/<\/span> directory:<\/p>\n

    LinkedInCompanySearch.png <\/span>
    \n\tLinkedInPeopleSearch.png <\/span><\/p>\n

    \n\tCustom JavaScript<\/h4>\n

    The custom Javascript file, UserJavaScript.js<\/span>, located in the <evj>\/javascript\/user_javascript\/<\/span> directory must be updated with the integration JavaScript code. If your ExtraView site does not already have customer-specific JavaScript code, then the UserJavaScript.js file can simply be replaced with the copy of file you received from ExtraView Support. Otherwise, the JavaScript file provded must be merged into the existing UserJavaScript.js<\/span> file. Please contact ExtraView Support if you require assistance with this task.<\/p>\n

    \n\tCustom Java<\/h4>\n

    Custom Java code implemented in file LinkedinIntegration.class<\/span> must be installed in the <evj>\/WEB-INF\/classes\/com\/extraview\/usercustom\/<\/span> directory, and the Behavior Setting named USER_CUSTOM_CLASSNAME<\/span> must be set to com.extraview.usercustom.LinkedinIntegration<\/span> As with custom JavaScript, if your site already has customer-specific Java code implemented, then this code must be merged with the existing user custom code, and the code must then be recompiled. Contact ExtraView Support if you require assistance with this step.<\/p>\n

    \n\tExtraView Configuration<\/h4>\n

    Edit the ExtraView configuration file, Configuration.properties<\/span> which is found in the WEB-INF\/Configuration<\/span> directory, and add the following setting on a separate line using the LinkedIn Application API Key value generated above:<\/p>\n

    LINKEDIN_API_KEY = api_key<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
